Gaye Chapman

Gaye Chapman joined the Blue Star Basketball Family in 2007 following a college coaching career that had spanned nearly 10 years. Gaye's last college position was at Temple University as part of Dawn Staley's original staff. During her time working for the WNBA/Olympic Star she had the opportunity to be a part of making Temple basketball history. In just their second season Temple won the schools first Atlantic-10 Conference Championship & a NCAA Tournament berth. The last recruiting class that Chapman was a part of was a Top 25 Recruiting Class that included the #7 player in the country according to Blue Star.
Prior to coming to Temple, Chapman was an recruiting coordinator / assistant coach for American University for three years. She helped the 1997-98 team to its best season in school history (23-7) and make a postseason appearance for the first time.
A native of West Chester, Pennsylvania, Chapman earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Health and Physical Education in 1995 from East Stroudsburg University. She then served as an assistant coach at her alma mater while obtaining her Master's degree in Health and Physical Education in 1996.
Chapman served a one-year stint at Southhampton College in New York as an assistant. At Southampton she was again a part of school history, helping the Colonials post a 19-10 record, the most wins ever for a program.
As a player, Chapman was a four-year letterwinner at East Stroudsburg. In her senior season, she was named Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Player of the Year. She earned Division II Kodak All-American Honorable Mention. Chapman was also ESU's Female Athlete of the Year and made the NCAA East Regional All-Tournament team. She scored 1,224 career points as a warrior and recorded the first triple double in University history.
Gaye presently resides in Oregon.
