Roger Reding

Roger Reding joined the Blue Star Basketball Family in 2007 following a college coaching career that had spanned 20 years. Roger's last college stint was at Texas Tech University as an assistant coach for 15 years under Hall of Fame coach Marsha Sharp. During his time with the Techsters he had the opportunity to coach such greats as Sheryl Swoops & Melinda Schmucker (the schools all-time assist leader. Since joining the Texas Tech staff the program had a record of 414-105. He has been a part of the 1993 National Championship, the five consecutive SWC Championships, the three Big 12 Conference titles, and the three Elite Eight NCAA tournament finishes and seven Sweet 16 appearances.
Roger has had the unique opportunity to have coached for all of his alma maters. Before his time at Texas Tech he coached at South Plains College for four seasons after earning his degree in 1981. Prior to building his college coaching resume Roger was able to coach both the boys' & girls' basketball teams at his high school alma mater Whitharral High School. During his time there he lead them to two boys' district titles and one girls' title.
Presently Roger and his family reside in Texas.
