Jacob joined Blue Star in 2016 after a brief stint away from the game, but last held a college position at the University of Illinois - Chicago having spent eight years on a basketball sideline.

Jacob spent three seasons at UIC as both the director of basketball operations and as an assistant coach. This came after one season as an assistant at North Central College.

The University of Akron alumni played on the basketball team from 2002-06. After completing his undergrad work he went on to earn a Masters of Science in Education in 2008.
