Leah Frazier Dixon

Leah Frazier Dixon joined the Blue Star consultant team in 2014. A lifelong advocate for women’s basketball she has served a numerous levels of the game throughout her career. She closed out her college coaching career at Texas Southern University and Columbia University.

The former Tennessee Tech standout closed out her college coaching career at Texas Southern during the 2008-09 season and came to Texas from Columbia University as an assistant coach there from May 2007 to 2009 after serving as an assistant coach at Rider University during the 2006-07 season.

Prior to coaching at Rider, Frazier Dixon was the head varsity girls’ basketball coach at Washburn High School in Minneapolis, Minn. She has spent several years in the Minneapolis school system working as a middle-school teacher while serving a number of non-profit organizations, including founding the Frazier Foundation. The foundation works to provide opportunities to female athletes to earn college scholarships and gain employment during and after college.

Frazier Dixon was a two-year starter and four-year letterwinner at Tennessee Tech from 1983-87 and continued her basketball career with coaching positions at the AAU, high school and college level including year-long stints at Minnesota and Austin Peay shortly after graduating from Tennessee Tech.

Known by most as Coach Leah, in 2010 returned to non-profit youth and community programming as well as the classroom. Taught High School English and Language Arts at Energized for STEM Academy High School, Inc. and at Victory Preparatory Academy in Houston, TX in 2012. She earned an Executive MBA from the Jesse H. Jones School of Business at Texas Southern University while serving as Director of Programs and Special Events at VPREP, in Houston, TX in August of 2012. Coach Leah's future professional plans as a consultant and youth programming expert include expanding the Frazier Foundation’s reach from Minneapolis, MN to several metropolitan areas in Texas, the Southwestern US, and the East Coast through the formation of the Institute for Academic Leadership and Athletic eXcellence in the fall of 2015. A native of Minneapolis, Minn., Frazier Dixon has three children, and presently resides in Texas where she serves as the T-Cal Director of Athletics.
